Who we are

ShiftFWD began in 2002 as a branding and design studio created by illustrator and designer Koldo Barroso and UX designer Naomi Niles. Over time it evolved into something more focused: a space for bilingual content strategy and brand storytelling, where design, words and voice work together.

We still care about visual identity, but our main focus is now the content itself: the stories you tell, the way you speak to your people and the experience you create when someone reads or listens to you.

We believe every person is creative and has something meaningful to offer the universe. To support that, we have developed a series of processes and exercises that help clients uncover the best of themselves, bring everything into focus, polish that brilliance and share it proudly with the world.


Koldo · What I do today

My current work is centered on bilingual content strategy and content quality assurance in English and Spanish. I help founders, educators and creative projects turn complex ideas into clear, coherent and emotionally honest content.

I help clients:

• Clarify what they want to say
• Structure their ideas into clear narratives
• Review AI assisted and human written materials
• Refine voice and tone so they sound like themselves
• Check coherence, flow and alignment with their values

Sometimes this looks like editing a long About page. Sometimes it means reviewing microcopy, newsletters, educational materials or conceptual texts. In all cases, my goal is the same: to make your content clearer, more human and easier to trust.

My background in branding, visual storytelling and music gives me a wider frame. I pay attention not only to how things look, but also how they read, how they sound and how they feel for the people who receive them.


About Koldo

I was born in Spain and moved to the United States in 2008. I started working in graphic design in Madrid in 1986. Since my teenage years I have been involved in editorial, art direction, and illustration projects.

In 2000 I created Intuitive Music, one of the first international music portals online. My graphic and web design work for the electronic and clubbing scene led me to start the Intuitive Designs agency in 2003 together with North American UX designer Naomi Niles.

Since then I have worked between Europe and the United States on branding, design and creative direction for small businesses and independent projects. Today I combine that experience with my work as a bilingual content strategist and content quality specialist, helping people bring more clarity, depth and honesty into the way they present themselves to the world.
